Was looking to book a site for later in the year found an area we wanted to visit. But I nearly fainted when I seen the price it would have been £76 a night the ehu £12 knew that was gonna happen. £33 for pitch and £10.50 per person. 😱😱🤬🤬🤬 Edit… just seen the pich includes two adults so only £55 😂 4FDDB823-9F73-441E-B85C-4AB9444DDCB8.jpeg

I booked our trip to the SW 2 days ago. I rang up the site we normally stay at in Cornwall and, bearing in mind its not even school holidays when we go, they wanted over £41 a night!!!

We declined and are going to Devon and Dorset now instead and staying on 2 sites that we have stayed on before that are much cheaper and tick many boxes for us.

We only ever stop on the more basic type of CL sites with my needs only being for an EHU, water and disposal and doing my booking for the coming season I have come across quite a few sites who are actually charging the same as last year, but other sites whose charges have quite literally spiralled up, totally out of relation to the increases in electricity prices!

All I do know is that all of our favourite sites are still at £12 (inclusive) per pitch per night for our campervan, my Mrs and me and our 3 dogs.

The electric price doesn’t make sense as it is cheaper in the winter months when people are likely to use more leccy than in the summer months

I love Cornwall, spent many a summer holiday there as a kid but I now avoid it due to the silly prices and outright discrimination of campervan and motorhome owners ☹️

Del

It looks like a pitch with EHU and two adults is £33 to me🤔

Sorry You’re right I’m an numpty. it’s coming down three of us with electric hook up £43.50p think I’ll get it booked 😂 Don’t want to name the site but it’s £5 for an awning £3 if you have a tow car and if you have anyone visit they charge I think it’s £2 per person. And I don’t know how much the air is.

Not so easy when you have kids, when our granddaughter used to come away with us we had no choice

The answer is to not to give in to the kids and or grandkids, take them to a decent healthy open air site with a shower block and get them to play like we had to do when we were young-uns........................... !!!

We once camped at a site with a 'rustic' shower block.

Our youngest toddler locked himself in and couldn't work out how to open the door again. I had no choice but to go in and clamber noisily over the top to release him.

It was the ladies block.

Our daughter and son in law are running up Sca Fell Pike for charity the weekend before Easter,
They asked us to provide the accommodation, MH, to cut down on costs, so we decided to use a site, not something we do that often, so began phoning around,
As we are members of CCC, and occasionally use the CLs we tried that route, but aren’t any near where we wanted,so decided to try one of the big CCC sites near Keswick…..
Phoned their booking line and was told minimum of three nights..I explained it’s not the BH weekend, but she said it’s a three night minimum whenever you book… she then quoted £280.00 for what would be the Friday and Saturday night, as we’d have to go home on the Sunday for work the next day.
I politely declined,

I cancelled our direct debit to the CCC after 8 years, last week. We haven't used their sites for a few years now and their magazine is only marginally better than the other lots. The minimum 2-3 night stays used to annoy me too as did the 25% deposit required.

Isn’t that £33 per pitch including 2 adults and ehu, or am I missing something,

There’s three of us I've looked again and the child price is up to 12 years old so pitch with extra person £43.50. If my awning was working an extra £5 a night. Next time I try to book a site think I’ll employ a travel agent 😂

I remember staying a large site one and accidentally forgot to tell them that we would be putting or awning up. They never checked so it saved me a fiver a night.

Not that I'm suggesting that you try that mind you....:)

I suppose technically it is a fixed price: Pitch with awning = xx

any good it’s N T and there’s also a b&b nearby A3BA9005-34DC-4EEC-B06A-E4A9B1AE6104.png
