No, that's the same type as the latest one. So I presume you are referring to when driving in minus temperatures that it has not dumped? Is yours in an area where it can get warmth from the driving area? Mine is set right at the back in the garage next to the Truma, so it is not going to get over 4C unless it is switched on, which is the advice I got from Truma.

Sounds as though it's in the same place - at the bottom of the boiler in the garage. I dunno - maybe our garage is so full of stuff that it acts as insulation?

We are off to Switzerland in early january, have 2 months there in the Valais and Fribourg on the "MagicPass" which only cost us £280 for 25 resorts. Hopefully the huge saving on passes will subsidise the rest of the extra expense there.
This will be our 7th trips skiing/snowboarding in the Rapido and we have experienced just about everything the mountains can throw at us from from sliding 20m back down roads, sliding forwards approaching downhill hairpins, multiple nights wildcamping below -20, huge overnight snowfalls to dig out etc etc. It's accurate to say we've been a bit too cocksure on occassion but it's not like we haven't got full winters, chains and all the rest of the gear.

we were in Kronplatz a couple of years ago not long after Kev was there - in fact he suggested it as a stop on our way to the Dolomites! maybe our paths did cross Sal??

First day on the slopes today at Grimentz, exce!!ent conditions and considering it's only 20 miles from Zermatt the village was easily accessible and 100% open. The road up, though, is not for the fainthearted and we will make sure we leave Val d'Anniviers before the next snowfall! It's quite a serious alpine ski area and the old village is the most characterful we've ever visited. Four days of sunshine and light winds forecast, there is an aire with servicepoint in the main carpark which is only 250m to the lifts, only 1Swiss van and ourselves here. Carpark is CHF5 per day plus CHF15 per day for motorhomes which include 13A hookup and use of the servicepoint.

First lift in the morning.

Sounds good Kev.
We are at Antholz which has good snow (xc rather than alpine though ). We are here til Monday for the Biathlon then we will make our way across Italy, probably stopping at Montgenevre en route home. Will keep an eye on the snow reports.
kronplatz was rubbish, we stopped o/n en route here but left all the kit in the garage. It hadnt snowed for weeks.
home in Andorra has lots of lovely snow. Its the same very year......

Can anybody recommend a campsite within easy walking distance of ski lift preferably in france. We have been to Montgenèvre a couple of times where the Aire is fantastic and may end up there again late February. We like Les Gets region but concerned that upon arriving the Aire is full and nowhere to go!!.
