A change of plans by others has given me the opportunity to change mine.
I’ve 18 days holiday in September. The lakes of Poland around the Tatra mountains appeals, although I’ve been told that the scenery is possibly better from the other side.
Anyone got a suggestion?

A Polish friend of my son's recommended Zakopane in the Tatra. Having visited, I wouldn't, unless you like tourist tat and lines of timber clad restaurants. The smaller villages around are nice though.

I rather liked Poland, but remember that it was once owned by Russia and a lot of the large towns have typical large communist block housing complexes, although the heart of these towns have some nice architecture.

I’ve been reminded that someone’s first birthday occurs during this break. That puts a kybosh on Eastern Europe. Spose I’ll have to put up, with France again. Tis a hard life. Might make it as far as the Alps. Mosel , Germany perhaps?

Baby won’t know you’re not there!!! Send a post card!!!!
I know which side my bread is buttered. Plus, I’m not brave enough to miss it.
Plenty of time once I’ve retired. When ever that might be. Don’t wait up, could be a while.
