Smelly grey water tank , odours in accommodation area HELP!

It's an awful smell isn't it? The amount of times we've had to drive with the windows open.

Full sugar coke down all the sinks/ shower on an empty grey tank, before you do a good drive.

Prevention is best. Scrape all plates etc before washing up. We try to chuck washing up water into a hedge. We use Planet bio liquid. Of we can't, then we've a dedicated sieve for catching food bits before the washing up water goes down the plug. Where we can, we leave a washing up bowl under the open grey waste tap, so dirty water goes straight through the tank. Have the remember to close the tap when we shower and then empty the tank as soon as.
Yes wash dishes om a bowl and never pour down the kitchen sink a dispose of properly (eg toilet)
Flushing with coke as described
Soapy shower water is fine but repeat the coke treatment maybe every month.
We had a blocked sink pipe once. Not to be repeated

Convoluted pipes exacerbate the problem too.

Well i have the prevention rather than the cure. I have my waste tank linked only to the bathroom so it only collects showere and basin water and never food waste. The sink waste has an open drain hose where i position a 15L black can under it with the hose going straight in. This gets emptied and sloshed around with clean water after every stop.
One more useful point for outboard cans is when in the freezing alps for skiing season we put regular buckets under there as these will freeze up before you can say Jack Frost. We bypass the the bathroom grey tank also for this same reason.

Thank you all for such a diverse range of options. Will try a few over the next few trips and see what works best. Currently I have passed rank sterilising solution through each plughole and filled the waste tank to the brim with same. I will leave for a few days.

Yep the coke trick works for me when the water gauges start having a fit

Just tip the cola down the plughole and let it sort itself out, you could even add half a bottle of bacardi and get an Interesting cocktail after a run
