snowbirds 26

Ken's right, it's a Coypu. The last one I saw swimming beside my camper was at Les Andelys, where we occasionally stayed at Camping l''lle des Trois Rois beside the Seine. You've got to be quiet to see them.

first one i ever saw we were blackberring near a friends house by lucon saw this length of rope about 6 ft and an inch thick 6ft away was this huge beast although supposedly vegitarian neither my dog or i wanted to dispute its ground

We stayed in decent enough aire in Figueira da Foz last night. (Sectioned area of a large car park, Motorhome services, free overnight, and 1 - 8€ through the day depending on when you arrive/leave.) We had travelled from Peniche trying to hug the coast as much as possible. We couldn’t believe the devastation to the woodland plantations between Nazaré and IMG_3325.jpegFigueira from the storms earlier in the year. Whole sections were just snapped trees. On the outskirts of Nazaré two campsites were badly damaged and won’t be opening anytime soon. It’s one thing reading about it but it must have been really challenging for people living there or travelling in Motorhomes in the area. We thought we had it bad in the North East Scotland a couple of years ago but this was really was something else.

Well we did at least manage to leave port under our own steam instead of steaming. We stayed, about 5 miles south of the river, at Parque Campismo del Orbitor Canidelo for 3 nights, IMG_3475.jpegIMG_3379.jpegIMG_3429.jpegIMG_3438.jpegIMG_3468.jpegour first actual campsite of the trip with campsite prices. 😱. Whilst the site was only ok, the location was great. It’s just across the from the beach, is easy walking distant to beachside restaurants and bars, the bus stop to Porto is just up from the entrance, and there’s an excellent bike route which takes you round the coastline to the centre. Having said that a Bolt Taxi is only 7€ so we fell into the habit of ordering them.

Two weeks home from our wonderful European "playaway". Bournemouth is full of sunny spring days, with more forecasted🤪, so we're not complaining.

Big thank you to Lee and Linda for sniffing us out at Praia dos Tomates in Portugal, and to Jennie & Paul and Alan & Linda for joining us .... a smashing couple of nights with good friends. A walk into/meal at Vilamoura plus food one evening and drinks around the fire the next ... perfect.

Also good to follow these guys onto Pomarão for a few nights to meet up with Ken & Jan, Rob and Dennis (and the dogs), to celebrate Lee's birthday ..... lovely evening, great food and drinks, and much laughter.

Note: Lee had one of his best (cheapest) cards ever!! Unfortunately no pics. 🤣

Many of you were also in the Spain/Portugal area at the same time. Sorry not to catch up with everyone ..... See you all in Hereford.

Warm hugs from FIJIT 💚, Susan and Paul 🍻 and SMUJ 🐾
