One of my favourites would be “ I’m sorry, I’ll read that again”.
Forerunner, probably of The Goodies.
'I say, I say, who was that terrapin I saw your with last night?'
'That was no terrapin - that was my old teacher; she tortoise' ...
And then there was the episode that almost got the programme banned for material that was homophobic, sexist, racist, and just about every other 'ist that offended every known grouping, but brilliantly written!
E.g. Robinson Crusoe sketch when the companion appears, and says in a Lenny Henry Caribbean accent, ' Hello, I'm Man Friday'; to which Crusoe replied, 'Ooh, what are you the rest of the week, duckie'
Then the sketch about the rape and pillage of the English language, featuring a certain Miss Pro Nunciation, a female of doubtful repute
The sketch that featured the Black (k)night who fell was less than subtle, Sir R*st*s etc, etc. Hugely non-PC, but not targeted at any grouping or individual, just a phenomenal harvest of dreadful ( and therefore brilliant) puns crammed into 30 minutes of comedy brilliance
