I’ve only just caught up with this saga Gordon. I can only say how well, I think you’ve handled all this. I know that I would be pulling me hair out, and generally getting me self into a right paddy.

One good thing that might come out of all this, is you now have made contacts you know you can trust, and if anyone else is in a similar position, you have advice to pass on.
In other words, it’ll be an ill wind, and all that.
Luv to er indoors.

It's back in the uk ,had the insurers onto me today asking if I had managed to get the vehicle yet ,they were a bit shocked when I said it was collected and back in uk ,next stop would be me receiving it ,so they're now working out what they are thinking on contributing to repat ,I've told them I had not received my invoice yet till I get veh
They are truly amazed at the speed it's back( I think)
Will update with costs later if anyone is interested

Let's hope they're reasonable and offer a sensible amount.

Hi Gordon, just caught up with this, truly sorry to hear of your breakdown. It's bad enough on home ground but you have done well to get it all sorted. You and Fiona deserved a nice break. Hope it all gets resolved and you can soon get back on the road.

Got the van back to yard last night around 20*30 pm psn rain so decided driver was bedding down in our yard, this Morn8ng went and got full English ,bacon rolls and two egg rolls with tattie scones ,full English for Russell the driver he was happy as larry
Got the van off all in order no damage at all really pleased ,had a cuppa when off and trailer all sorted,
This afternoon we checked engine an£ appears it might just be the turbo, all intercooler pipes and cooler will need washed out of oil etc
Called Ford turbo in Germany 2 1/2 weeks ,around£1400
Recon turbo from a turbo specialist about£450 3 days to obtain ,mmm decisions eh also want to put a clutch in
This afternoon about 15*00 hrs the insurers asking all about how it went etc, asked for the invoice to be submitted then they will see what contributions will be šŸ¤ž
To be continued
