Sog toilet vents .

I'm quite confused (my normal state) as to why there are two fans, where these fans are, which blow/suck & how they are operated?

Is it possible that at some time in the history of the van, a Thetford system was fitted and then a subsequent new owner was unaware that it had one fitted, and a SOG system and they are working against each other?
I think you could be correct.
Will fit new seals and flap mechanism when it arrives then if it still smells will disconect one of the fans.

Perhaps if there are two fans, one blowing into the cassette and t'other sucking they are just fighting each other, and if the one blowing is stronger it will be ejecting the nasty niffs into the bathroom, if they are switched manually do each in turn to see what effect they are having, if automatically then pull the fuse/wires (tape them up) for the one easiest to get at I wouldn't go into the Thetford switch plate, no need.

As for wherever the hose/tube is fitted is irrelevant there are a number of off-gassing points to pick from, SOGs are a DIY job and whoever does the fitting may decide on a different place to attach the hose/tube.

Whichever they are both crap systems.

Both fans rewired both fans now working and pulling air out .both filters changed and seals and flap..
Need to make lots of pee now.😊

Open flap, outside sog pulls air out.
Flush toilet and thetford fan under cassette pulls are out fir about 2mins..and continue to pull when flap closed.
Waiting for smells..

Mine is a question, on replacing my 7 year old tank the SOG runs continuously, any thoughts please, could it be the filter

More likely the switch which is operated by the mechanism that operates the blade. The switch can be reached when the toilet cassette is removed, top right when looking in from the door. If it has slipped a little out of position it may well not be getting turned off. A little fidgeting got ours back in position and working ok.

Ours has a vent on the roof. Seems to work very well. I do use the blue stuff though.

Not seen a roof vented one, if I see a roof vent I assume its for the Trauma flue.

Not seen those either
