Storm Babete @ Dunbar Harbour.

Similar at Stonehaven today as well Terry. We didn’t go as we obeyed instructions not to venture out but the BBC website has some dramatic piccies.

Just in from subway, one massif big rain storm for 5 mins and then stopped dead, still very warm, the end is nie.

My mate sent me this earlier, which was posted on a Sunny Dunny FB page. Such an irresponsible parent to put this young child at risk.

Child is no relation to my mate or his family.

We used to keep a sailing yacht at Musselburgh Harbour just along the coast many years ago. Glad nothing like this happened then. Our first offices (Institute of Geological Sciences, now BGS) were based in portacabins at Granton.

Tony, according to Edinburgh Live online news, 25 vessels were craned from harbour water to quayside, a wise move by the vessel owners. My Dunbar pal txt me this morning to say one vessel sunk within Dunbar harbour, not sure which one, main or Cromwell harbour?https://www.eastlothiancourier.com/news/23866550.pictures-25-boats-craned-fisherrow-harbour/

IGS, were cabins located near to wire works?

How can I remember that far back Terry - we‘re talking about 1973! As far as I can recall the cabins were close to the wireworks but not really sure. We then moved to Grange Terrace, South St Andrew Street, Murchison House then back to Grange Terrace after a refurb.
Sue also tells me it was Fisherrow not Musselburgh that we used to sail out of.
