Stupid rule

Don’t know if you remember the post on WC about charity shops not taking my booster seats because of a daft rule, well here’s another got the BH foundation to come and take my old suite away that was in a perfectly good and clean condition the van tips up this morning checksbthe big sofa out yes all the fire retardant labels still intact so they load it onto the van camera back for the chair and poufe which the labels were missing can’t take them he says , but they are a set I says bought together clearly if the sofa has the correct fire retardant materials the rest will will be the same you could even see part of the original label but because it wasn’t intact they would not take it, just madness so off they went with just the sofa splitting up a perfectly good suite oh well we will just break it up and off it will go to the tip. Aarrrggghhh.

well that is really daft could understnd if not the same so if itake the cushion off my 3 piece they are n not fire proof unless i zip them on but as they don have labels then they cant be considered part of the suite daft

Exact same thing occurred when we broke my mum and dads place up good qaulity gear but no labels no take

such a shame. you should have given it away locally to someone who needed a new suite. loads of them on facebook that you can sell/ give away local. I wanted to do that with a few items of my dads like the cooker that works perfectly. We didn't because no one would be there at all times for collections.

Most towns/counties have a local 'Freecycle' organisation nowadays where you can advert items you want gone. Been using ours for many years.

When Malcolm was sorting his mam’s house out we phoned a few charity shops to come and take it and she had some really good stuff,a few of them said they would come and “cherry pick” we did find a charity that took it all,and they gave money to cancer research

I would have done but rushing back from Scotland rearranging the delivery of our new suite only had 3 days to sort it as I’m heading back to Scotland on Monday so it was a rush job less for Bill to sort when I am away I also have a vet visit with poppy as they have upped her heart tablets but I got it all sorted and van is is all ready for the next adventure lol

Surprised they didn’t bring the sofa back in.

I think that was because it was in like new condition and had all it’s labels intact and it’s easy to sell a sofa on its own.
