Hi folks.
Apologies for the strange post but I’m trying to track my grandad’s T2 camper that he had until 1983. We have checked with the DVLA and it appears to still exist, having been SORN’d in 2011.
My grandad is 99 next month and seemed delighted to find out it still existed.
Bought as a minibus, he converted it himself in to a two berth campervan around 1977/78.
The registration number is TRB 382 M and spent it’s early life in Heanor.
We had many memorable family holidays in it, towing a trailer tent and even a mirror dinghy boat on the top.
We would be thrilled to find where it is and to see a photo of it would be even better as he’s not seen it since trading it for the “car of the year”, an Austin Metro, which incredibly, he used to tow a caravan with….
I’ve shared this on a few VW groups but have posted it here in case anyone knows any enthusiasts who may know where it currently sits.
