So... Just what are the rules when one of your children has recently been in contact with somebody, who has been in contact with somebody else who has tested positive for Covid-19? We had planned to meet up with Darran The Urban Motorhome last weekend, but will be no Roaming for the Radfords for the next 14 days!

That’s a bugger

Same here with daughter, some silly mum at her school sent the son in monday after being tested on saturday when you are meant to holt to you get the text if clear, bet she will be only back next week to some other silly spotty whip end does the same.
School also said s distancing at 1 mtr, no way as when we went to pick her up kids wear climbing and jumping all over each other, madness sending kids or students back, should have held to xmas and taken a second look at things or skipped one year.

Not sure why you are self-isolating unless one of you is displaying Covid symptoms. None of you have had direct close contact with the positive testing person .........

Government advice to the positive test person is ........

Tell people you've been in close contact with that you have symptoms
You may want to tell people you've been in close contact with in the past 48 hours that you might have coronavirus.

What does close contact mean?
They do not need to self-isolate unless they're contacted by the NHS Test and Trace service. But they should take extra care to follow social distancing advice, including washing their hands often.

If they get any coronavirus symptoms, they must self-isolate and get a coronavirus test as soon as possible.

Its a bit like the chicken and agg situation. Found out this morning that a child at grandchildrens school has tested positive....teacher and class to isolate......but siblings of the children in the suspended class can still go to school. Following those guidelines you don't need to suspend your plans....whether it's advisable is another story.

It's tricky isn't it. Finding the balance between keeping the world turning, and keeping family safe.

The school have to work very closely with the local authority and Public Health England, and they basically do exactly what they are told. They are experts in teaching children, not slowing a pandemic. Thankfully, only George needs to isolate until one of us starts to show symptoms. AND Hurrah, non of us showed any symptoms!!

We will do exactly what we are told, I'd hate to be the one that spread it to a vulnerable person. Can you imagine living with that guilt! Anyway, great news, we are all symptom free and ready to get on the road again.
