Three Peaks Challenge

In the very near future my son will be undertaking the 3 Peaks Challenge with some work colleagues in order to raise money for the care of ex military service personnel.

The 3 Peaks Challenge is basically to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell and Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) in less than 24 hours. Given the geography and distances involved, it's a bit of a logistical exercise as well as a physical challenge.

I'd be hugely grateful if you could share the link below around to see if we can whip up some support or indeed, if you could see yourself clear to chucking in a few bob. No donation too small!

NB He's the one on the right in the picture. The devilishly handsome one...must take after his dad. :)

Many thanks in advance,

Many thanks to any folks who have made a contribution thus far. (y)

If you missed it in the OP, this is the charity that is being supported...

Just an update.

The lads are travelling up to Scotand on Thursday and will be starting this challenge at midday on Friday. Things could get a little wet and wild as the current storm moves up the UK just in time to welcome them!

If you haven't had a chance to look at this then I'd be most grateful if you could. It's a very worthwhile cause. Any donation of any size is welcome and donations can be made anonymously if preferred.

Just an update for any folks who have chucked a few quid in.

They have completed Ben Nevis despite the reported 90mph winds.

Morning update

Scafell Pike has been completed and the team are now very near Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). The team is down to 3 as the others dropped out due to the pace required in order to even approach the 24 hours mark. The appalling weather has been against them all the way so it's touch and go as to whether they will manage the 24 hours with 25/26 looking more likely. Still a remarkable achievement though I'd say.

Edited to add: Steps to date...48,200 !!

So all 3 Peaks were climbed well within the 24 hours. They got back to their mini bus after 24h 42mins.

Just shy of 69,400 steps taken!

The lads have just stopped for a breakfast/lunch and are then off to Liverpool for the night: Beer, rugby on TV and a curry...and then some well earned sleep!

On behalf of the lads, many thanks for those of you who have supported this very worthwhile cause. The Just Giving page is still open so if you are able, any sponsorship would be greatly appreciated by the lads and the charity.

Just a last note on this...

The lads raised £4,000 in the end. Many thanks to anyone on here who supported them.
