To the East of the M6

Looking at the map re Glasson, there’s a massive area to the East of Lancaster. Forest of Bowland. What be here, dragons? Is it worth a visit? Going to get into the Yorkshire Dales NP while I’m in the area.

White Scar caves are full of dragons and well worth a visit.
Hawes is great, the dairy there makes Wallice and Gromet cheese.
There is also Tan Hill if you need a beer and a view.

This is indeed a beautiful area, and has lots of secret hideaways. I hope it stays that way as overuse will spoil it.

Interesting! We are talking about taking the Moho when we visit the Welsh outlaws at Christmas and use the M6 - will file this away in the memory bank thanks!

You can always visit the witches lair on Pendle Hill or try a trip down Sabden Treacle Mines though not many southerners have survived this???

I couldn't really....like most campers we tend to travel some distance from home to camp so we've never really explored the local wild camping spots ?

Think we all tend to do that. 180 each way for a weekend, nothing to it. Stoke Bruerne. No idea.
( I have really, there's a nice hardstanding along side the canal, on the left of the A508, just after the sign to Bruerne on the right. But I know what you mean. )
Jeff's recommended, Arnside, I'll give that a go on Monday.

We’ve stayed at the poi on the coast by Pilling. Fantastic views across the bay.
