One possible option is to use a 'Tile' device on or in each item you may want to trace. They work on Bluetooth, so have a limited range, but if you know roughly the location of the missing item (e.g. it's in the motorhome or it's somewhere in the house), then they may suit your needs.Misplacing of personal items in our home and motorhome is being more of a problem as we get older, does anyone have any personal experience of a particular brand that doesn’t require a subscription and will work with an iphone on ios12?
Tks looked at Airtag but it doesn’t support the older iphones.I don't know much about the fruit based stuff, but Phil was raving about these:
AirTag
Attach AirTag to everyday items, like your keys or a backpack, to easily keep track of them in the Find My app.www.apple.com
It seems the precision finding won't be compatible, but I'm not sure what accuracy you can get. Something to look at
It is required mainly for items misplaced in the home or moho so range is not a big factor. My understanding of the way these work, is that you have to be within Bluetooth range (so around 10ft?).
Good if you've lost your keys nearby, but no good if you've dropped them or misplaced them away from where you are (although I understand the signal can be picked up by any other of your Bluetooth enabled devices in your home and sends the signal to the cloud, so if you've left the item in your home you'll be ok).
