Trip To Spanish Grand Prix and ACSI Card Deal.

We are looking at going to the Spanish Grand Prix in mid May and taking a very leisurely drive down from Dieppe crossing from Newhaven on or around 15th of April.

Being members of the C&CC I thought I'd get the ACSI card to take advantage of the low season deals for the odd night on a site. I logged on to the C&CC website and went through the links to order the ACSI gubbins and the payment page crashed, not an uncommon problem with the Club website. I got on the phone to sort this order out and the nice lady tells me if I book through them for the ferry I'll get 10% off the DFDS price and the £12.99 I have payed today will be refunded. It would seem therefore that if you book a crossing through them you'll get an ACSI card and guide for nowt.:Thinking_Face_Emoji

Where are you going to stay for the GP? I’d been wondering about it, but have had only had a quick look and didn’t see anywhere to stay at....

I think the C&CC are a funny lot. They have these deals but don’t make much of them! Conversely we were stuck for a site in France once (site website buggered, phone number wrong, no reply to email etc) and I noticed it was on the C&CC list so I called them. They were helpful but stung us for a ‘late booking fee’. You’d think it might be a discount for a late booking, but no.

Did you mean the ASCI was free or that the cost you saved on the ferry paid for the ASCI? We booked our tunnel crossing with them to save 10%, website was useless kept losing the booking also not the best way of finding the cheapest crossing. Much easier to use the Eurotunnel website to see which crossing yopu want then ring the club to book over the phone. Usually use Tesco vouchers but haven't got enough this time to make it worthwhile.

The nice lady at the C&CC central bunker was quite clear. If I return to book a ferry crossing the price I payed for the ACSI card and two part guide (12.99) will be refunded.

Well, having looked at the ferry crossings to Spain and given that the Circuit du Catalunya is very near the bottom end of France I've decided to just take our time and do the long drive down from the tunnel.

I have a pal who lives here, https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place...0xbee8edfcc82eeacb!8m2!3d45.364773!4d1.052927 not too far from Limoges and would want to nip in on the way down to Barcelona. Got in excess of two weeks available for the south bound trip but need to return in about four days maximum from the circuit to Calais.

So,dear readers, any route suggestions for a meandering trip down and advice on reasonably direct route back is greatly appreciated. Don't like tolls and prefer real roads any how but I'm willing to shell out for part of the return leg in order to keep it simple. I'm thinking the northern end of the return trip might be better on toll roads.

Thank you in advance.

Thanks for this Winks... useful to know. Did you book DFDS Dover to Calais through C&CC? I can only see the Newhaven to Dieppe route on the website, travelling from here in the South.

Not booked anything yet Jen. Thought I'd get it sorted when we get back from Fuerteventura. C&CC website is a bloody mess in my opinion. I think I'll go back to the phone and the mk1 humanoid come the day.
