Just like to recommend Jr Consultancy of Bury St Edmonds, he has just increased my GVM to 4050kg from 3650kg, it was hassle free, just had to send him a photo of my Vin plate and a photo of the second page of my V5 and what size tyres I had as well has having air ride fitted to my rear axle, took approx a week, he charged £180 in total, which was cheaper than the £260 + vat that SVTECH wanted. Feel I now have a motorhome that is usable, just waiting for DVLA to update my V5 now and stick the new Vin plate on the vehicle.

How long did it take? I started the process with him on 6th September. Sent an email chaser this morning.

I emailed him first off, but he was away on holiday, when he returned he emailed me to advise what was needed and what the max weight limit my vehicle was capable off and how much it would be. I sent him copies of the information he required and rung him up to make sure he had received it and to ask how I pay him, the next day I received an invoice by royal mail, I paid it electronically through my bank and within three days recieved the engineers letter of calculations, the Vin sticker to show the new weights on the vehicle and a laminated copy to keep in the habitation area.

When I spoke to him on the phone I explained I needed a fast turn around as I was going away to Spain in a few weeks until Xmas and wanted to get my V5 sent off before I go, in the hope that it is back before January when I hope to set of to Europe for a few months. He explained he had been away on holiday and was extremely busy as he Upolstery wagons, but told me not to worry as it would be sorted out within a week and it was. Perhaps give him a call to see what is happening. I have now filled in my V5 and sent it off along with his letter, been told DVLA can take up to 4 weeks. I took photos of the stuff he sent me, but not sure how to attach it on here, otherwise I would.

When I up plated DVLA quoted 6 weeks and also said that they would not look into any progress during that period.
In the end, they lost my documents and it took over three months to sort out!
They even sent a wrong weight document!

Typical example of a government run department, I was hoping to get it back in time for January, I have photocopies of the stuff JR consultancy sent me just in case it was lost in post. The worrying thing is if the DVLA write to me needing any further information, then I won't be here to reply, until the 23rd December and then you can bet they are closed until January, I only wish I worked for an employer to get the same amount of paid holidays, but I work for a right tight barsteward.lol

I had EXACTLY the same problems with DVLA, but they lost the entire parcel, because I didn't send it recorded delivery I had to buy a new V5 and a copy of the certificate from JR before I could re-apply.

Then they sent out my new V5 with the wrong weight on it but I did get that replaced FOC.

It all took me about 6 months from original application.

Regards,

Paul

I had our van up plated by JR Consultancy last year from 3500 to 4100 just a paper exercise and. cost £150 all in it took about 2 weeks with JR and exactly 5 weeks with DVLA.
