Water pipe connectors

I need to take my sink panel off the wall. To get it off I need to take the plastic water pipes off. Now there are plastic connectors that look like they just push together, some have a loose collar on them but I can't get them apart. Help please!

Push collar in towards the fitting, then pull pipe out while holding the collar in.
