Stopped short of Imola last night to avoid the F1 crowds, quiet night at Castel San Pietro sosta, followed by a visit to the market this morning. Full sun all day and up to 27° so we've headed for the coast just north of Pescara.

After a grey day with afternoon showers, this morning is bright and breezy, 20° rising to 24°. On the move today, overnight stop at a pizzeria restaurant and then onto Gallipoli via Lecce.

I did a couple of days ago in East Sussex, and at my age.

Today it's cloudy and 15 deg, we received a light splash of overnight rain, but nothing to talk about. They are still predicting the thunderstorms we need, so we live in hope.

Not our best day, travelling south hit a traffic jam just before a 2km tunnel, joined the Italians who were turning around and ended up with a long hilly detour just to get on the other side of the blockage. Anyway better than being stuck in the tunnel!! Followed the coast road south until the potholes got so bad that it forced us onto the motorway. Found our overnight Agriturismo only to find that the pizzeria is shut and only working winter hours. So sausages and prosecco for tea!! Anyway the weather improved as we headed south, still 22° and sunny intervals. We are keeping the horses company tonight ..........

Good for you! Sadly I have developed a reputation around here for sausages when I eat out with friends. Yvonne tries to provide us both with fresh healthy food, and it's an opportunity for me to behave badly.

They are still predicting the thunderstorms we need, so we live in hope.

The thunderstorms didn't happen. Just a couple of showers that didn't even get me very wet. Ah well, the wonders of a Maritime Climate.
