Weather Report..................

The Arctic Blast is still with us.. but only if we go outside the north-facing front door.
Sunny, dry and 10 degrees .
Winds gusting 25mph, warming up to a simmering 15 degrees later.
I'll put my Parka and snowshoes on and trek down to the coffee shop, brandy will definately be on offer !

Can we still buy Thermagine Wadding ?

beautiful sunny morning......fresh , cold, be a nice day for a walk among the falling leaves ....then a nice hot choccy and biscuit to follow...........not that i will be doing that tho.........all have a good day

I awoke to dryness outside, which is a distinct improvement on the previous 48 hours.
Though it was only about 8°C.
So now we've popped down the coast to Salou, just south of Tarragona, where we'll sit out the rest of the high winds which are part of the current storm.
I'm looking forward to the Ebro delta tomorrow!

Colin ???

I love the Ebro delta can I have some pictures of the flamingos to make me envious.
Have you tried the restaurant at the tourist centre near the aire?
It does traditional rice dishes.

I'll do my best with the photos, Lee, but it will depend so much on the weather and the quantity of shy that the flamingos have absorbed at this time of the year. I'm especially looking forward to the Ebro delta because so many birds are migrating through it in late October and early November.
I haven't tried the restaurant before. I don't have the Aires book for Spain so if you get a moment could you post the coordinates of the Aire so that I stand a chance with the restaurant?
Many thanks,

Colin :):):)

It's the tail end of the storm here in Salou. No rain but very high winds so we're parked up near the centre of Salou sheltered by flats with no overhanging trees. Even here the Moho is being buffeted somewhat. It must be very 'exciting' out on the flatlands of the Ebro delta tonight.

Hi Colin
I've looked on Google earth and here are the coords
40.6594575, 0.06753460
It's the restaurant La Casaelle Fusta L'Estany.
From memory the aire is free but the facilities are about €3.50.

Thanks, Lee. I'll put the idea to Ed and Steve tomorrow and hopefully we'll get to visit both the Aire and the restaurant.

Cold, clear night, 9 degrees, sheltered from the Northwesterly wind.
I'm not going where it's not sheltered, just to find out.
8 mm. Of rain forecast overnight... We'll see if they're right.
