Our temperatures are rising again and still no proper rain. It's currently 24 degrees under a bright blue sky, and I've left off cutting one of the hedges to sip a coffee whilst I steam and dry off.

The forecast is for much the same over the next few days, the shrubs and plants are suffering, and some of our water butts are very low.

The little apple tree looks good, so something enjoys the ongoing south-east drought.

Great day for Banchory Show today as it usually rains. Sunny all day and really warm - even now at nearly 7pm it’s just on 27deg in the shade. Great for the beer tent!

They've changed their minds and no longer forcast rain.

Instead we've a dry bright day with light cloud and 24 degrees.

An early stroll, just to get some exercise, before Sunup.
Breakfast in the shade.
Commented how quiet things were..
Then a helicopter flew over very low.
Fire engine sirens going off.
Checked on the wildfires website, to find that a house 300 metres down our lane, was reportedly on fire.. We overlook them and had passed by an hour earlier.
Couldnt see anything
No warning ping from the App.
Checked our emergency escape systems.
And then checked that the incident had been concluded in 10 minutes.
It's a thrill a minute, up here.

32degrees here and n amboise I thawed out my full stornoway black pudding fry up but I cannot be bovvered to cook it had a bleeding French stick and coffee But maybe mid afternoon if I stay aff the vino🍽
