And on our side of the Forth too! Now leaden grey skies and there's rain trying to move in. Need the snow to be washed away before it can freeze into pock-marked ridges

Rain overnight in Glasgow! But it was still freezing so now two inches of ice covering everything , paperman got stuck at 0720 outside where we are staying ! At 9 am I’d had enough of the engine revving and wheel spinning so went over and drove it out for him

Today we have light cloud which will trap in some warmth, and temperatures will rise to about 4 degrees. Rain cannot be far away, and that will help melt some of the treacherous ice.

This morning has brought us the most crimson sunrise I have ever seen in East Sussex.

The temperature will rise to a mild 6 degrees, and we are forecast very heavy rain, increasing in volume as the day continues, with inevitable widespread flooding.

Gone from -6.5 at 0730 this morning to +1 at 1030. No rain yet but I fear rain on a snow and ice surface won’t make walking or driving very easy. Take care everyone.
