Weather Report..................

An absolutely perfect day. Wall to wall blue skies, a light SE breeze, and a high of 21°. Still trying to rid the garden of Bears Breeches. ☀️☀️☀️

It was beautiful yesterday evening as we sat in our son's garden, watching his LGB locomotives steadily trundle their way throughout the shrubs, their little lamps lighting the trackside buildings and people frozen in time.

Today is a perfect day for a Bank Holiday. Wall to wall blue skies, a light SE breeze, and a high of 23° ☀️☀️☀️

Made an interesting (ish) observation over the last few days ....
Autumn has arrived in the Home Counties but it is still Summertime in Scotland :)

We noticed the trees in Berkshire and Surrey are all losing their leaves and the ground is covered by the fallen golden brown leaves. But back in Scotland and there are no leaves changing colour or fallen yet.
Not been 'down south' at this time of year for quite a long time so can't remember if that is usual. Is it typical to have the leaves changing and falling in August?

It's definitely not been a typical year David.

In our part of Sussex, we've had an extremely wet winter/spring, leading into an extremely dry and hot summer.

Many tree leaves are already turning autumnal, just as you say, and because of the lack of rain and ban on hose pipes, some trees are even dying. I've lost one. ☹️

Same in Cheshire, lots of stressed trees shedding leaves because of drought conditions, whereas north of the border rainfall has been normal.
Today we've had wall to wall sunshine and 26° with a blustery SE breeze, but we are going to get the remnants of Hurricane Erin for the rest of the week, so cooler and heavy showers to come.
