All good things come to an end, it's great to hear you've had a lovely time away.
Have a safe journey home and as you say it won't be long before the next time.

We arrived home late Friday after 88 days split between England and France. On the last full day in France, at Beaumont Le Roger, I was wandering towards the town when I thought, 'Why do I want to leave this?', and if we manage to do a full Winter in Spain this year, I imagine that the question will arise again!

Great to hear that you’re enjoying your freedom and the trip was good, many more to come.

Our recent sojourn in France was just about 60 days so we have a few spare days in hand before the 90 limit kicks in. I feel a trip to a few Christmas markets over the water coming on!
Have a safe trip back up to the lovely north Gordon and Fiona.

What happens if you stay beyond the 90 days?
No idea - you get into trouble I suppose! We’re not too worried as we’re only thinking of going over for a couple of weeks and in any case by the end of It it will be 180 days since we first went over this year and I think there’s something to do with 90 days in a rolling 180 day period, but I’m pretty ignorant about it all really!
Hopefully somebody who has done their homework can post a more intelligent response.

Best advice is to use the official EU Stay Calculator which is effectively a 'Customer Lite' versio of the Border Guards System. Roughly speaking, if you stay for, say, 60 days from 1st Jan and then wait, say, 75 days before taking another 60 days trip, you should be OK, even though at the start you will exceed the 180 days; this is because the rolling 180 days allows the first days of January to 'expire',with any 'overstay' days that would occur on Day 1 of the 3rd trip being replaced by expiring days from the January trip.

But, if you take your 90 days in one hit, the rolling 180 days doesn't free up days to allow the earlier stay days to expire, and the system will refuse the new planned trip. The easiest way is to enter previous trips on the calculator and play around with planned stay dates to see when the earliest new trip date can start. Or, put smug filter on, and marry an EU Passport Holder, then it's as though the EU Referendum never happened ;)

55 days from 6th March to end of April; then 64 days from 21st June to 23rd August; and, all being well, a further trip around 24th November for 3 months minimum, perhaps as long as 6 months, depending upon Travel Insurance availability/cost ...
