I noticed burn marks around the personnel door on Thursday, and this morning I went down to move the van to ensure it was fully drained down and al was ok, two bottles of water were not even close to being frozen so -9 must have been a long way out.

Anyway I had to unplug the EHU and I noticed the garage door was raised but about 4 inches so I had a look and they booted the bottom panel in and off it's tracks both sides, so I managed to close it down and lock it, so I went to the local hardware store and got a huge hasp and staple to fasten it down from inside, and some concrete bolts to make sure it can't be lifted up.

I can't find my big SDS drill so couldn't finish the job so a couple of 4x2 will keep it secure until it turns up.

I have a secret beam breaker across my drive, when anyone comes in it sets a beeper wall plug unit of in the house, also some pir lights come on, both outside and alarms if the garage is breached, there is also a second tool at hand, they dont like it up em you know.

Carefully said .... I made a mistake in (what did you do to your van) and got slagged off .You have to b very careful with your remarks (some people eh ).
Please don't hold back in secrecy or hide behind a mistake................say what you said and stand by it. However unneccessary it was.

What was questioned "by some people eh" was your assumption that the damage had been done by an addict............like those who say your stolen motorhome must be in Ireland by now.....pies and keys and all that nonsense hidden behind photos.

It's this kind of casual throwaway stuff that feeds the fires of prejudice and I think they are mostly made by stupid or unthinking people (delete as appropriate).....but I realise that would just an unneccessary generalisation and prejudice on my behalf.

It was my reply and it was NOT a 'slagging' by any measure. You made an assumption that my Satnav was on display and that an addict [your description] would steal it to pay for his next fix [not quite verbatim, but pretty close]. I questioned your assumptions and made the case for people with dependency problems functioning as normal members of society, including an example of assitance given to me by such a person. Had I wished to slag you off, I have sufficient command of written English to produce a reply that would have been more than enough to see me banned from the Forum.

Back to topic hopefully.

Still not found my SDS drill so job stopped until then.

Where do these tools go to? Dave lost an angle grinder in a nearly empty workshop (in midst of moving house!)
Maybe the scrotes took the drill ;)

Stolen stuff ends up on Ebay, marking them makes no difference as the buyers jsut want the tools at low prices so they sell fast.

I think Lizs son might have the drill but he's away until Tuesday, he doesn't think he has it but will check then, and of course Liz might have "tidied" it away.
