What Bike Rack would you recommend for a Malibu Charming GT Ducati van? It’s got barn doors at the rear and I want to carry 2 bikes.

Dose your van have a tow bar.?

The Van-Star strongly appeals to me for my PVC as it doesn't put potential stress on the rear door skin that I have read about elsewhere.

Liked the look of them until I checked out the price and nearly fell over. Would have to be a towbar and a Thule carrier for me at less than 1/2 the price.

It's only money. (Your money... 🤣)

Doesn't it look great on Ron Harpers beautiful van.

Depends on how heavy your bikes are and how strong you are. I fitted a Thule Elite Van XT to two vans - the bars attach with "clips" and glue - but my bike is only 11kg and the wife's mtb is 15kg. I can lift them, although it's good to have a hand with the heavier one. I doubt you would get e-bikes on and they'd probably be over the weight limit of 35kg.

Fiamma make a similar version although I think you have to drill the doors for bolts.

I also have the Atera and although it does dip out the way and allows the rear doors to open it can be a bit of fiddle to get round and retrieve something from the back. However, it does have it's advantages of being easy to load and doesn't put any strain on the door.

Fitted the tow bar mounted Atera and very pleased as you can still easily open the back doors on hot (!) days, also very well made. My old door mounted rack pulled the door seams apart when loaded with one electric and one push bike, the doors are glued together now not spot welded. Also it is nice to leave the van rack free when not taking the bikes. Not cheap but it works well for me.
