For years I have been having just two Weetabix and whole milk, but a while back I bought some of this:-

And it's really nice, and due to the cooking instructions easily repeatable, so I have them on alternate days, I do like other cereals but I need sugar on them.

Weetabix used to be around 5p per biscuit until recently, not any more, it's over double the price now, more if you buy the smaller packs

Can't have the Honey, type 2 Diabetic, if I have it on my breakfast it means I can have too much sugar during the day.

Asda do a big 2kg bag for arund a pound, as for w abix, more energy if you eat the box, that goes for all cerials, medical fact.
Yep stay away from the sugar.
Best to have your oats first thing in the morning. ;)

I was waiting for your two pennorth Trev, you need to buy a new song sheet I think.

I mostly have Cornflakes, Weetabix or occasionally (because I know I shouldn't, being pre-diabetic, type 2) a few Crunchy Nut Clusters. I never use sweetener on cereals, just semi-skimmed UHT.

This is usually followed by orange juice (with extra bits), toast with a bit of reduced-sugar marmalade, decaf coffee and a few grapes.

But on colder mornings I like Quaker Oat So Simple. I used to like the Golden Syrup variety, but now have the Original ones instead. These sachets are convenient because they have a "fill line" to measure the milk. Although they're intended for microwaves, they cook well in a saucepan too.

To make up for the loss of syrup, I add half a spoon of Stevia granules, which tastes great, and is also good for baking because you just use half the sugar quantity in the recipe ...

The porridge I got worked out @ 500g for £1.80 = 16 servings @ 11.25p Liz couldn't find the tub I linked to so just got the larger 1.5kg bag for £2,75 making it even cheaper for 48 servings @ 5.7p, I still like Weetabix but it's great to have an alternative.

Stay on the porg, w a bix is full of nothing, much better to have a slice of brown bread toasted & buttered.

So you keep saying Trev, change the record.

I tell you what Trev, you post a LINK to it, no screen shots and I'll take a look, until then I will ignore you on that.

Meantime.

Dave has porridge made with ordinary oats and water, adds sultanas for sweetness and splash of milk. I can't stand porridge but make my own granola with oats, dried fruit and tiny bit of honey to bind it and make it crunchy.

I tried with honey yesterday but to be honest I don't think it really adds anything so I stick with plain or a tiny sprinkle of salt.

We have them for supper now and then, pikelets are just thinner and misshapen as they are not made in a mould like wot crumpets are and are thinner more like Scotch pancakes
