I'm with Barry on this. We mostly have our waste tap open and a bucket under it with a hole in the side if parked on grass (our preference). I'm actually in the process of building our new van, based on a Ducato, and will only be fitting a small 17ltr waste tank for the very rare times when we can't just have the tap open.

That's exactly what I did went to the campsite service point jumped out of the van connected my hose pipe and then went to unlock the water inlet realised my keys were in the van went to open the door and they were all locked no idea how or why but Phil managed to get into my van as I had left the drivers window slightly open but it was a struggle as the remission blinds get in the way of the door catch.
 
Usually we water the trees or hedges. So if you see a bush or tree growing well and nice and green in Southern Spain you can probably say we have parked nearby.
 
We were about to leave the site to catch the New Zealand inter-island ferry with only about half an hour to spare. Wife jumped out to check the grey water tap was turned off and I jumped out to push the hook-up flap shut and, as VWs are inclined to do, it locked itself with the keys in the ignition. AA were over an hour away and we had just about resigned to missing our booked ferry when we noticed that the rear sliding vent was open a crack. We popped out the mosi screen but the window was only designed to open about 6 inches so no hope of climbing in. Then we had a brain wave, borrowed the 5 year old girl from the next pitch, poked her through head first and she grabbed the keys and passed them out. We made the ferry, just!

Hi. No need to apologise. Don't know anyone form Winchester-probably a good thing from what you say eh?!! LOL
 
I either use a collapsible bucket and then dispose of down a drain etc (or under a hedge if appropriate). Alternatively I made up a rig (see piccy) which is attached to a 5m length of hose which I then feed into a drain (or under a hedge if appropriate). I also carry another 5m length of hose plus through connector just in case, so I can extend out to 10m from my MH.

That's why I've never seen a full bucket under a motorhome .

Yes in all seriousness this is a dangerous habit on a dry day. A few times we have come whizzing round a bend on a sunny day in dry conditions to be met by a trail of greasy water and the culprit, a motorhome up ahead. Bad form
 
So many using buckets with holes in, so you know it's wrong and attempting to hide your bad practices.
just empty it into a (holeless) container and take it off-pitch to empty....please! I don't want to park on a pitch that's soaked in somebody else's dirty water. Not nice, not acceptable.

Leave nothing behind except footprints!
