I have to take Loperamide which is the same thing, my urologist said it would help my plumbing to work better together, but I take on twice a week anymore and I don't see a loo for days, and by then I really don't want to

Same here! Almost every pill has a counterpart to counteract the impact of the previous pill. Bizarre, but better than being dead or being a living vegetable!

My repeat prescriptions are sent by the Doctor to our local Boots Chemist 500 yerds from my home, Boots send me a text when the Meds are ready for collection, and Boots reorder the Meds every time they are due, great free service could also get free delivery too if I wanted it,

I used to use boots but they started letting staff go and the scripts were rarely ready, so I went to text and it could take over a week.

Well after being on various painkillers every day since 1978 I am now mostly drug free so I must be the loser in this competition lol.

Last review I told the doc I may have to take one of the painkillers form a day and a half every six weeks (what’s it’s been averaging) and was delighted when he said he would put a repeat script up that I could call off when needed.

Something went awry somewhere though as since then the chemist texts me every month to say my script is ready to collect

Our repeat prescriptions go to Lloyds online (https://web.lloydsdirect.co.uk/) and we've registered that as our 'default' pharmacy. Our GP surgery is co-located with our local branch of Lloyds, so if I need something quicker than via mail, I can ring up the local Lloyds to check stock and then tick "collect at local branch" on line. A few times, they've held up an entire prescription because a single item was 'on order' but they're generally pretty good. That said, I suspect Boots and others who offer mail order are as good?!

the pharmacist at Lloyds saw me filing in the app form for delivery and said I wouldn't bother, it comes via Royal Mail so what will you do if they strike again or you're not in to receive them, I just changed to Asda, it's their own business so less affected hopefully by the vagaries of other forces.

And yes mine's been held up by one item more than once until I told them not to be so stupid.

What are you going to do? Well, the Royal Mail give notice of strikes and Lloyds give you the option of collecting from your local branch (or any branch in the country if, e.g. you're touring) and they submit the prescription request electronically -- so you don't need to submit a piece of paper to your GP surgery (assuming the surgery hasn't implemented an online system). I suspect that Asda will let you collect at any Asda with a pharmacy and that Boots et. al. are similar. So, for anybody who's regularly away from home, an online service would seem to be a no-brainer. That said, the good thing about Royal Mail over other delivery agents is that if you're not in and the package won't fit through the letterbox, they'll card you and you can collect at your local post office.

In Scotland, LLoyds will provide an emergency 7 days supply after they contact your GP surgery. In France I produced the prescription and the pharmacist sold me a packet of Rivaroxaban [€73 for 1 pack and that was 8 years ago!] In Spain, I didn't even have to produce a prescription, dispensed on the spot and the pharmacist had drawers full of the recognised brands, rather than some obscure outfit's Ivabradine version; I bought 2 prescriptions worth at €75'ish and €76.35 respectively [price difference of under €1.50, but who cares]

With Lloyds online, it's simple -- provided you know where you're going to be in a week or so's time. You put in an online request and either give where you'll be as a delivery address or nominate your nearest branch of Lloyds. If there's any issue, you can obtain the prescription reference number (not sure whether this is from Lloyds or the GP) and give that to any NHS pharmacist, who can then supply. I suspect similar from other online services?

Lloyds just rang me saying they cannot supply me with a drug that was short back on Jan 7th, maybe they have supply problems.

What's annoying is I have to contact my surgery, and hope they believe me as it's 22 tablets, 1 a day, why can't they ring/email the surgery.

The same thing happened to me, had to ring the Doctors and ask them to prescribe an alternative then forward this to the Pharmacist.
