hi guys . for the second time since 2008 coming to the end of our french tour . the first time was about 10 years ago a lady came out to check what we was filling up the second time last week at Calais as you might know or not know you have to go in to the tills & tell them to turn on the pump & sometimes you have to give a deposit . but this time he ask what we was filling up & came out to check which we have an outside filler if not no fill he said . cheyenne

I have external fill point in the side skirt next to gas locker

External above locker door into 1x11Kg and 1x6Kg Gaslow. Heads up appreciated but so far never challenged in France.

External fill on the nearside skirt, up into the gas cupboard via the venting tubes and then connected to 2 x 11kg Gaslow cylinders. Fitted by Autogas 2000 at Thirsk on 13th July 2021

Total Filling Stations refused refilling in France; Hyper U & Leclerc Hypermarkets were quite happy, and no problem at all in Spain

My filler is in the gas locker and never had a refusal either in the UK or abroad.
you would have done if you was filling up at Calais last Thursdays .pump was turned off like most places in france now & he came out to check before turning it on just saying. cheyenne

Mines on the UK n/s behind the rear wheel arch attached below the van side close to the underslung gas tank.

There are indeed some places in France where LPG is supplied only when there is an employee at the filling station (but not necessarily turned off if manned), but there are many places where the filling station is unmanned 24/7 and one simply fills as one would do for any other fuel.

Always either had or fitted an external fill point.

I have a fill point on each side of the van, so I don’t have to worry which side of the van the pump comes up on.
I was going to get that done Rog as my gas point is opposite side to diesel. Charlie said I was stupid and not to bother though lol, you know how he doesn’t mince words.
A gas bottle lasts me a long time though as I only use it to cook. I mean months now from a 6kg when it’s just me and the dogs (constant use). The 11kg Gaslow bottle has been sat in the greenhouse all year I use so little lol
