I was born in 1965 one of the first things I was taught was not to drop litter so I don’t in fact I often pick up and moan at other people

Both photos are taken on the 1st of may, the first photo is a country lane in Germany 2018,
Can you guess which country the second country lane is in, I do think we as a nation have lost all pride in this country our brave people fought so hard for during the wars

Young Andrew, I had been engaged to Sue by then, so maybe that's why I am a tad bolshy, but your observations are wonderful, we truly live in a bit of a world where respect is an alien concept

You can always tell which day is bin day home here, you can see a trail of rubbish left by the bin men. Even when it blows out of the back of the wagon it’s simply left, they never pick up what they drop.
Same here in N ireland,we have small extra bins called kirbys which are for glass plastics and paper, our rd is filthy every fortnight when the van has been round, wife now phones council and makes them come round and sweep up.

We live in a cul-de-sac and the young lads that live with their dad across the street and sometimes one of their girlfriends drop their litter the big paper cups and other bits of paper they have in the cars, they just open the car door and drop it out then they go into the house passing their rubbish bins on the way in!! We’ve known them since they were babies I just have a word with their nana and she sorts them out (we’ve known the family for 38 years)

I can remember when my daughter was little. If she had sweeties she would pass the wrappers to me. I always had a pocketful of rubbish. Can't abide littering, it costs nothing to take it home, Wonder what the inside of their homes are like?

Reminds me a bit of when I live in a particular house and I used to find cigarette butts in the garden thrown over from next door, from the owners young son who clearly didn't want to have his dad catch him smoking. And despite a quiet word asking him to stop it they carried on coming.
So collected them up, put into an envelope addressed to the son with a note saying "I think these are yours. Thanks for not throwing any more into my garden. If I see any more, they must be your dads so the next letter and butts will be addressed to your dad". Posted that through the door.
No more fag ends after that :D

I still do Sue with the grandkids but they have been taught to put the rubbish in the bin or in their pockets (or mine)!.. haha

The other year we was on the aire at Gap and some Froggie Nob had quite obviously had a clear out in his car and dumped it on the car park.

I donned some disposable gloves got a new black bin liner and went over and picked the lot up and put it in the very large bin approx 5 yards away.

When i got back to our motorhome the only other one there was another Brit who`d arrived whilst i was clearing it up and he was getting something out of the locker.

He asked me what i`d been doing and i told him i`d been clearing up the rubbish / crap that Johnny Foreigner had clearly dumped from their car.

He then asked me ............................ WHY ?

I told him that if he couldn`t work that one out then there wasn`t much hope.

For some reason, responsibility has bypassed modern children. Generally they seem very selfish and inconsiderate without any thought as to the effect they are having.
Then they gather in London and complain about the environment?

That’s what Malcolm and I were saying when they were complaining in London and when they’d all left the rubbish they’d left behind was shocking

Visit Romania (you will only want to go once) and see the disgusting state they leave the place in. It’s almost a national pastime to flytip everywhere.
