Wifi security camera

The issue with some suction-cup mounts is that the design might make it difficult to aim the camera through the window as required, though there is normally a wide field of view, so might be OK.
The small cameras with USB could be permanently connected to power by means of a USB mains outlet or plug and USB cable. (USB extension cables are available.)

Yes I have two options Tom, the above may work fine but it would have a smaller field of view as it would have to be on the window at the left looking all the way across the bay inside out of a window on the other side, but the bulb one I linked to could be right next to the window I want to see and is more easily aimed, not ordered it yet though, still thunking.

My point was more that if the suction cup is intended for fixing to the window rather than the frame, it could prove somewhat limiting. Also, my experience with suction cups on windscreens (and heavier-duty more professional ones than would come with these small cameras) is that they can fall off quite frequently, probably due to expansion of the small amount of air inside as a result of heating by the sun, unless "assisted" with silicone sealant. The use of a mount affixed to the window frame using two-sided tape/pad would overcome this.
I think that the "bulb" solution may have its merits, depending on how it is mounted, but I would find it somewhat obtrusive. This may not be a concern for you or your location may mean that this is not an issue.

Yes I understood what you meant, the suction cups do tend to fail nw and then, plus the windows need a clean from time to time so all the phaph of re-positioning each tim.

The bulb version would just sit on the window sill in a lamp Tom, so more aesthetically pleasing to the boss, we have a couple I can put there to see if it will work for us.

Need to check if would function as a lamp in the evening too, but I think it is just a camera.

I ordered the lamp one, not worth messing about for the money, so I'll report back as and when.

Just to set off the "computer spies" tirade again.....After reading this thread, FB kept showing Wi-Fi camera adverts!

It's nice that people are watching over us, gives me a nice warm fuzzy feeling.

I have a wyze camera that you can operate from your phone. They also do a fixed one. I got mine from AliExpress but if you want it faster then Amazon

The camera has arrived, not bad for Temu I only ordered on Monday, I hadn't noticed but it comes with a E27 screw mount so I can hard wire that and it'll work as a stand so no need to butcher a lamp.

I'll get around to setting it up at some point and report back.

I tried to find it on Temu to re-post but it has been discontinued, only 5 left when I bought it.
