Wildcamping Scotland ...one persons view

I don't see the relevance of the Anti - English reference. I have an Auntie in Canada but somehow i did not feel the need to tell you that ! 🤔

The views expressed in the video make a lot of sense, it don’t even sound hard to live up to but there will be those who won’t even try 😟😟

Hi click on this link to see a Scotsmans perspective after 40 years campervanning ( allegedly). It is interesting. Not anti-English either. Definitely promoting harmony with the natives. No dumping rubbish or poo etc
Really enjoyed your wee video tonight .We have just done 1400 miles in north of Scotland and you cant beat it only complaint is the midges. We do a lot o wild camping as they call it without any problems but do use local pubs etc .Thanks again for your interesting video

He dose make a lot of sense. The hire companies hiring out all these hire vans in the highlands should make there customers watch this or one like it before handing the keys over and pretty much make sure there customers with no experience of camping with a motorhome are booked into a Camp site every night of there hire especially this year. I found that vans travelling in convoy meant or not was a big bug bear to highland locals so if I found my self getting bunched up with a slower moving van I’d pull in and give it ten minutes same if I seen a van or a local on my tail. it looks bad when three or four motorhomes get bunched up on a single track rd looks like an invasion to some locals.

Cameron McNeish is a very respected person in the Scottish outdoor field. He has done lots of TV programmes about the hills and wild places of Scotland. In his programmes his campervan is often featured.

Well put, Cameron should be in charge of tourism for Scotland. Very diplomatic & succinctly put. It only takes one moron to tarnish the rest of the motorhome community. Will definitely be going but when it quietens down & is safe to do so. Thanks Cameron, keep up the good work.

well respected chap up here but even with rise in campervan use in Scotland the Scottish government seems to think we can advertise the beauty and push lots of popular spots and rely on local councils to provide the infrastructure to support this. overstretched councils struggle to keep existing facilities open far less open new ones or even provide more regular rubbish collections in sparsely populated areas. many of us have been petitioning local councillors and MSPs to try and get government interested in some sort of scheme to help local communities with overuse and misuse of their areas but despite the publicity, as usual, it's all posing and empty gestures

100% agree. I think this would help a lot.

I hired a cruiser on the Norfolk Broads many years ago and we were given a brief introduction to the vessel before we left. They told us all about the vessel how it worked what was where etc but nothing about Broads/boating etiquette. I suspect that it is the same with motorhome hire.

What a thoroughly decent man, talking sense.

He looks and sounds like my best man, who still lives, walks, and skis in his beloved Cairngorms.
