Wildlife cameras

So... I've always fancied rigging up a little wildlife camera at the bottom of the garden to film the birds on the feeders and maybe spot some of the animal nightlife as well.

Anybody doing this and is there any cheap and cheerful kit you can get that would do the job without spending a fortune?

I'm assuming you can link the kit up to your laptop etc....?

If you look on somewhere like Amazon, there are some that get pretty good reviews for around £50 but video at night might not be that good and batteries run down quickly. Should still be ok to get you interested though and they use sd cards that can be read by plugging into your laptop.
I’ve had a couple of Lil Acorn cameras, image quality day and night is pretty good for a mid range camera and batteries last a good few days.
The more you pay, the better the image quality and the longer the batteries last.
I have a Bushnell Trophy cam. Batteries last a year and images are very good. I also have Browning cameras that I think are the best, but they are expensive £200 -£300+ for the basic models.

I bought one from E Bay for my wife's Birthday a couple of years ago , cheap enough, it works realy well, has a SD card in it so this can be just plugged into our lap top to view our captures, it has lots of settings for timing etc, we have it set for 20 second runs from 10 pm till 9 am and get a lot of captures mostly birds , squirrels, cats hedgehogs and we had a lot of visits from a fox lovely, it depends where you live I guess as to what visits your garden , it can also be used for security watching if you want to use it as that , it is very similar to the one someone has posted on here further down .
