Wind energy is getting better

People forget about the energy involved to make & install the turbines which is way more than the units turn out in the 10 year life cycle.
When you convert anything there is always a downward step, never ever up.

Perhaps the answer is to use the UK State Pensioners to produce the Wind, because we produce much more as we get older and we're getting the mantenance under the NHS and the end of life disposal method need not be changed. And finally. the crescendo of flatulence MIGHT just drown out the chorus of 'Still, mustn't grumble, eh?' :D

I have an image of Corporal Jones's Butcher's Van with the Bag of Gas billowing on the roof now, Kev! I'm like one of those reverse flow engines [watched Wheeler Dealers last night!]; I can produce hot air from the mouth and warm exhaust gases from 2 feet or so further south, without forming a vacuum :D

House it going with the house?

Stalled, Kev. The first, simplest task of the Claim, a cash settlement for the Sewing Machine which was sitting underneath the pipe burst zone, failed, because Aviva's sub contractor had failed to spot my Acceptance. They promised to action it urgently yesterday, but no sign of any pending transactions yet. It'll probably be Tuesday at the earliest before I know whether thay've messed it up again

Plumber will visit again on 12th January, and I've got an email enquiry with Scottish Water [phone service is a new way to contact the dead; just dial the freefone number and wait] on whether the external Mains stopcock can be replaced with 2 separate stopcocks to avoid both Flats being cutoff if there's a future problem. There appears to be 2 water supply entrance pipes for the original house, and there is no easy way to find the location. The pipework tracing may involve removing a Stud Wall in the main bathroom and working back to the external stopcock via floorboard removal, which will involve the Dec 2020 installed carpet being sliced in two to give access ...

Technical Inspector for the Ceiling/Floor/Dry Rot Check/Electrical repairs Appointment for 10th January, and the Carpet Specialists Inspection set for 17th January, then it's down to getting the work scheduled/carried out

Upstairs Flat owner is visiting 12th January to get his own Contractors for estimates etc over the following 2-3 days, so next week is likely to be quite busy, and perhaps a wee bit fractious! Getting a working light in the Dining Room would be a decent step forward ... (y)

Sorry to hear that, lets hope something improves next week for you Steve.

Hope it all works out soon, me id move to something with no one above or around me, maybe easier said than done, either that or make sure the twit upstairs keeps his heating on and fills his sys with antifreeze, and shuts his cold sys down and drains before fecking off.

I think the initial estimates for his remedial work will ensure that the message gets through, Trev!

Dose it really matter how much energy we produce ,we still have to buy it back at Inflated open market price's ,

Of course it matters.

When it all goes off you'll see how much it matters, not forgetting they will keep running and so will solar, when all the fossil fuels have gone and they will prolong when that happens.
