Winter camping . And batteries

I'm a bit confused! Are you saying that you run your heating off 12v ? Surely not. If you were wild camped and not using a generator I would expect you to be using gas.

Truma Blow heating... gas ...12v for blowing around van .
 
After a very cold night -3 . we woke to a lovely warm van .
We put the heating on level 2 at 5pm last night
Left on all night .
Batts at 12.3 this morning .
Just goes to prove you don't need to be cold .
2 batts at 110 amp
200w solar panels .

Where are your batteries?
Ours are underneath in a metal box and we have had big problems with charging and low voltage recently in the Alps.
 
There in the garage space under bed.
So in a warn area.

Temp only droped to -3 .out side .
