To discourage The Borrowers I have removed a road wheel and the steering wheel. Actually I do have one of those Gold Seal Wotnot Approved steering wheel clamps but in reality they can be got around and it is easier to remove the wheel.

I have now put a waterproof covering over the disc. In case you were going to send me a message telling me I need to do that . . . . . .

A neighbour had a brand new Transit based Transit taken, the next week I saw a photo of the body as ashes of and in a yard in Essex. It seems nobody there knows about who had it. It now has a tipper body and another cab?

I did see somebody walking around earlier with a steering wheel and a road wheel looking to nick a transit.

You do need to think about where this is (and isn't) a good idea.

Removing a wheel may make it less attractive to steal, but the impression of abandonment and semi-dereliction it gives might encourage vandalism and theft of components in certain areas.

It's on a flat concrete slab at my house adjacent to my driveway. Neighbours on all sides at home all day will see if anyone is after my accoutriments and if they want the whole vehicle they will have to relocate a difficult-to-move car first to make way for the camper.

So it's not at much risk. Why take it partly to bits, then?

Taken to bits because very soon we will be away from home for over three months . . . . . . .
Actually you have reminded me. I need to take the gas bottles out.
