Jeff & I have just been in the motorhome changing all the seating covers to heavy warming fleece blankets, furry blankets in Roxy's basket with top fleece on the side for covering her up at night, flannel quilt covers and fitted sheet with fleece at bottom of bed, plug in blankets for on my knee's when travelling

what are your plan's to warm things up for winter

bought an oil filled Radiator for use on sites when i am there to stock up water and dispose of waste and have a nice long shower occassionally .... ... £45 for a 750w small rad... just about heats up the van if i close all curtains

We have a 250w oil filled radiator for overnight use and a 1 / 2 kw fan heater for when on EHU and the kettle etc. is turned off... we also use the gas heating to warm up quickly but it does use gas at a fast rate.......

Winter drawers on.

I have an oil filled radiator, I use a USB fan to blow over it. Fan heater. Simples.
Plus, its time to get sewn into winter long johns suitably impregnated with wintergreen and Vick vapour rub.
I also find winter the loneliest time of year. People tend to avoid me. No idea why.

Is that the secret of my success ?

PJs, sheepskin boots and extra blankets, plus I've put the carpet back in to help keep the chill off the floor.
Must remember to top up the gas before I set off again

We have already 'winterised' the van by upgrading our duvet to 15tog. We pack warmer pj's and woolly socks. Somewhere in the van we have a 12v electric blanket which we have used a couple of times. The main addition to the stores is drinking choc (and Baileys)....

Hi Linda, Does the 12v electric blanket work well?
Thanks. David

Off to Spain for 5 weeks pre Christmas and will sort it out when we get back.
All drained down of courae

Slowing down use of van as the xmas shopping heads are on the roads from now on and most cannot drive day or night esp in dark.

Hi David, the blanket is like an under blanket, it takes about 10 mins before it's actually warming the bed but it's lovely when I get in ?. We don't sleep with it plugged in on and in fact Lee usually takes the blanket off the bed when he eventually staggers in from the ? ....
