Zig Mk 3 panel

Hi, I am brand new to this motorhome life, so I apologise if this is a basic question.
With the Zig MK3 control panel (shown) when do I need it on? (driving, not driving) but most importantly, when just on leisure battery, the lights work but sockets, microwave etc. do not. They do work when I'm plugged into mains 240v. Is this normal?

Only 12v will work unless you are on hook up. Switch to engine battery when travelling and Aux when parked. At least that’s how the Zig in my old caravan worked

Thank you. So next job is sussing out operating the gas appliances if I can't boil the kettle from my sockets

You may have a manifold isolator for each gas appliance fitted (should have), make sure the one for the hob/cooker is turned on, check gas bottle is turned on and has gas then push and twist one of the nob controls. You should hear and smell gas. Light hob, put water in the kettle and set on hob. Jobs a good un but shout if not
