My motorhome is fitted with a ZIG X70 charger , i recently upgraded the 80amp leisure battery to 2 x 100 amp ones , is the ZIG unit still man enough for the job (bearing in mind it also keeps the 100 amp vehicle starter battery conditioned when on hook up ?
thanks
I had a Zig in one of my motorhomes and it gave up soon after I installed a second 100Ah battery. It may have just been a co-incidence? When I looked into the Zig specification I discovered it was really only a power supply with a fixed output voltage of 13.8V. As such it was not capable of charging the batteries properly. I replaced it with a proper staged charger that had bulk, float and maintenance voltages.
That's what my thoughts are , the Zig units are an expensive unit , mine is only 6 month's old and there is a smell when its under load , I think a beefier smart charger is the right way to go
Thanks Mark
