One of our members has started a new "Aire"

I thought that local councils approved (Certified) campsites...not Motorhome Forums (MHFun) ...I could be wrong of course!
That's good news .......
Any registered organisation can set up a certified site within current planning rules, they just need to notify the local authority who have a period of time to object if say they think the access isn't safe. That applies in England and Wales, not sure if Scotland is different as they have their own planning legislation.

Motorhome Fun are one of the organisations which have the right to issue "exempted certificates" . They are issued under the 1960 campsites act. The two biggest clubs are the best known for issuing them. The Camping and caravanning Club call their 5 van sites Certified Sites (CSs) The Caravan and Motorhome Club call theirs Certified Locations (CLs). You have to be members of these clubs to use them. The Motorcaravanners Club and Motorhome Fun issue exemption certificates, but you do not need to be a member to use them.

I got thrown out of the fun site because I got upset at being called a 'Free Loading ******' FLT' and had the nerve to mention it on the site
****** gets bleeped even on here

What great news. Let’s hope that it’s a success. Then, if only by word of mouth, other land owners will see that there’s a, “value added”, opportunity available. Greedy b…….. need not apply 😬

Right, though MHF was for facts well before Fun kicked off, and so it shall remain Ted. I am a member of fun, I went there first but I haven't posted on there for a very long time.

They need to inform Google too.

We’re in one of those places in Scotland where the postcode covers a wide area in acreage, but actually only about 4 properties. Google is pointing to a farm which is one of them but not on our road. Not sure how I could get this improved - do you have any advice? The what3words takes you straight to us, or searchforsites has the long/lat location right to our door.

Thanks for posting this Meg. We really appreciate all your help and encouragement

It was lovely to see you again. Glad you've had your first customers. Gordon may call next time he's passing in his truck!

I'm old and old fashioned, and almost never use postcodes as they often approximations.

All my life I've only ever used co-ordinates, because they successfully take me anywhere with pinpoint accuracy. You ask for advice......... The co-ords for your new aire are below. Well done on your venture, and I hope it's a real success for you.
