The only green tick is when both are up, but the glass is designed to cover the knob of the ring(s) that would be under the glass, leading to the conclusion it is designed to be used with one half down ?

No idea....Why wouldn't you just lift both, unless you need the workspace.
And a finger hole on the left one to allow you to lift it; but none on the right one so you can't lift that without doing the left first. So Why have the cooker manufacturers gone
A) for a split lid And a fancy one at that
B) one that allows you to "gas up" the 2 left hand burners with the RH lid closed ?
Extra space is always handy when cooking !
Yes, that is often the case !And a finger hole on the left one to allow you to lift it; but none on the right one so you can't lift that without doing the left first.
Shame we can't read the warning text more clearly. The only thing I can make out is a warning that it is not a device to be used for heating (room, not food).
The left-hand lid looks as though it goes extremely close to the right-hand gas ring (well across the central metal rod running from back to front), so I would suggest that the left-hand lid should always be up when using any burner, but (as Wildebus says) right-hand lid could probably be down when using left-hand burners.Given that you can easily access the gas controls with the right hand lid down...
I would say yes. !
And the lid is well clear of the left hand gas rings.
To me it looks a good design and maybe you could use the righthand gas ring with right side up and leftside closed.
From another post the lids are fairly heat resistant ?
Big big HOWEVER !
The graphics suggest nein no non.
Try google translate email the manufacturer or a main dealer.
Post a close-up image of the sticker !

I think the text is about ventilation whilst cooking.
