How much to change a clutch on an 07 Ducato.

My mechanic was supposed to do ours in the next week or so (no rush) but he's hurt his arm so begged off.

But I don't really know anyone else, I sacked my last garage when he went batshit nuts because Liz took her car somewhere else for a service.

So I'm wondering what the labour only cost should be realistically in a small garage, there is an online thing to get a quote but the quotes are £400 plus to £1200 & I feel £400 is high.

hi. we had our cheyenne 3L lump clutch changed as she was slipping due to having her remapped going from 160bhp to 190bhp
we did it ourselves me & a mobile mechanic .started at 8.am finished 1pm .the only thing you have to do is have some jacks that will keep the front end high enough to get the gear box out .going back 6 years now i think the clutch & the slave cylinder as well ours was from euro car parts . the old cutch was not to bad it was the presure plate had go weak cost was £800.cheyenne

The previous owner of my 57 plate Ducato had the clutch replaced in Spain at some time. Think he told me is was over 1000 euros.

I had mine done about 18 months when I have recon gearbox fitted but it was mates rates I carnt even remember how much .

My muckyneck did my Burstner a few years ago, on his own, on his back without recourse to an engine hoist etc. he did tell me it was a difficult job and took around 5 hours total. That was X250 6 speed and not the earlier 5 speed. But they are a similar size and fitment. So for a cash job I’d be looking at maybe paying £300/£400 or so. And I know you’ve got the bits already. Allow for some extra oil for the gearbox as well.

Mate just had a recon gearbox and clutch fitted in a transit for £1800. Labour wise may not be a lot more to swap gearbox but obviously the recon box had a cost

I've been out for a drive around the local garages, and got it booked in on the 20th, £300 cash including any oil etc, so I think that's fair, book time is 6 hours and it is in at a proper garage where we see a lot of motorhomes outside so they should know what they're doing.

Thinking about your comment there David.

Have never done a job for cash no VAT?
