Gloves or no gloves?

I recently read a post in which a person stated how they were disgusted that he saw people emptying their toilet cassettes without wearing gloves.

So here is a question:

Do you wear gloves whilst emptying your toilet cassette?

I always use laytex gloves to do this duty ,saves having to wash once it’s done this reduces filling the water waste up quicker ,just use a bit disinfectant spray in the bottle and jod done ,handle and catches are then not contaminated

No, I try to keep the handle and screw cap as clean as possible and wash my hands thoroughly when the job is done. Especially if there was any splashage. If you use gloves don't you risk getting contaminated when handling the gloves? I've never yet returned from a trip with a dose of dysentery or cholera.

I use laytex disposable ,new for emptying then bin after done ,can’t think any more hygienic as when you remove you pull them off so inside out

Nope, don't use gloves. I've had four kids and if I can survive looking after the exit end of babies I can easily survive cassete emptying without gloves.

If you're careful it shouldn't be necessary. Wash hands after obviously !

After spending lot of my time repairing sewer pipes and septic tanks think my casset is safe .lol..
No to gloves.

No gloves for me either I keep a packet of wipes in the cassette cupboard to use on door and obviously give my hands a good wash , unless you are using a pair of disposable gloves every time gloves can be worse than none.

Err, no. I too have waterproof skin. If its possible I wash off the cassette and then wash hands, when back at van and replaced cassette wash hands again

If there was no water near dump point I would wait til I got back to the van. Dont forget I am the one that fills up with diesel then curses cos my hand stink of diesel and never think to use the gloves if they are available Gordon. I have to remember to take the cassette, I once tried for 5 minutes to get it out before I realised I wasn't lifting the catch
