HOW DO YOU STAY WARM IN VAN DURING NIGHT

This weekend I’ve left the heating on very low all the time and it has been very comfy and snug in bed even with the cold snap this morning
Went to Morrison’s filled up with lpg £7’79 think it was 12*60 ltrs no bad for constant fun imho

not been away in the current van since fitting the heater, but I'd previously put on the electric blanket and that kept me very toasty overnight (high for a couple of hours and then I'd turn it down to low to run overnight). Lovely!
in the old van with the Eber I'd set that to around 17C when time for bed and normally would wake me up around 4AM with a whoosh.

Grrrr ... we've had the gas heating on each night and probably used about 4kg of (Calor Gaslight) propane over the weekend. So more than sixteen quid of the weekend by my reckoning. One day, I might fit a Gas-it system -- but LPG stations are a bit thin on the ground where I live.

Being straight from tent camping to a motorhome I really appreciate warmth in the van, so have the heating on whenever there is a hint of cold. Having lpg it costs very little.

I very rarely have my fire on overnight but I always leave the water boiler on a very low setting if it's below freezing.
Other than that, a couple of fleece blankets on top of the duvet, a pair of those fluffy fleece socks and just burrow down under the covers. Getting the fire on in the morning is the worst bit but I sometimes spin myself round to the bottom of the bed still under the covers... I can reach the fire from there :giggle:

Always wondered what a 'Spinning Jenny' was, thought it was summat to do with weaving, but now I know (y)

I could be happy without heating overnight but himself feels the cold so the fire stays on low.

We just leave the heating on low, I don't like being cold and I also think that the amount of gas you use by doing this as opposed to turning off and the reheating in the morning can't be that different.

You're probably right Lee but I'm a bit scared to leave my fire on overnight. The end of the bed is right by the fire and the duvet flops over the edge in front of the air vents... I worry it might catch fire

Keeping the water heater on low helps. Last time out I used a hot water bottle. I went to Ribblesdale. T'was gob smacked. The water stayed warm all night and the water was still warm enough for an, admittedly, tepid wash in the morning. Okay it wasn't as cold as this last weekend, it was decidedly chilly. I'll use it again. A happy, warm bunny.

Never bothered with heating so far,but then again i have slepet out in snow in a army s/bag at minus 16c.

If it’s too cold we leave the heating on low because Malcolm’s nearest to the fire so his feet get hot! But if it’s just chilly it’s turned of but in the morning Malcolm can reach the fire to turn it on I stay warm and toasty

At Moffat, from Thursday to Sunday, kept the heating on all the time. Truma blown air. At night it was on the lowest setting. The heater control is just by the bed so just turning it up is easy. Filled up with LPG on way there and again on way back. Used 15.07 litres (@74.9). The elec power used was mostly replenished by the lovely sunny days, but I think I will get another solar panel.

Water heater in the garage leave on low warms the bed and the clothes in the wardrobe so put what I’m wearing the next day in the bottom shelf, teddy fleece bedding hot water bottles and a good dog for your feet that will move to warm your back on command. ??
