App for Plotting and Recording your motorhome tour ?

The app called polar steps does this, we only found out on our way home. The couple we met had 82 days on travel plotted on it

We used Polarsteps on our 6 month trip it was brilliant and our family could see were we where on a map. We produced a high quality travel book at the end

I have mapped the current journey in to Esplorio from pictures taken so route is straight lines as you would expect. We may be staying on this site for a couple of days til weather warning time has passed but will update once we are mobile again

Garmin can record journeys too and you can see the recorded route using Garmin Basecamp

Polar Steps is great for longer trips. We started our "trip" in August. It acts more like a blog. At the end of our travel year we can have it made into a book.
Records your GPS position maybe every 15 minutes so not over accurate when driving.

The inevitable tradeoff between accuracy/detail and longevity !

And don’t forget that polar steps is taking very little power. If I have a sat nav app running it soon drains the battery.

Esplorio say that their app is power efficient too. I have not tested it in vengeance yet so cannot confirm this.

They seem to be giving similar results so probably using same background tech so I would think very similar power use depending what other apps you link to them. I am running both as stand alone talking to nothing except photos

Have a look at Google time line it does similar

Google TimeLine is pretty good. If you have a Google account, the chances are that TimeLine is already enabled. Even if you turn it off, Google still tracks your (Android) phone's every move, so you may as well enable TimeLine and have the option of revisiting trips you never thought you'd want to! Google also gives you the option of attaching photos, so you can have a hybrid photo/map record probably preserved for longer than you'd need. The downsides are that it isn't so easy to download trips (AFAICT) and 'snap to roads' isn't available for every segment, so some days you'll only get a record of places you stopped.
