Morning all.
Sunny and calm at South Shields.
Good day for scattering ashes, combined with a pub crawl round the Dearly Departed's haunts..
I hope they have ashtrays outside.
Very underrated place.. Lovely beaches, modern facilities and a vast variety of eateries and watering holes.

3 metre height barriers on the roomy car parks.

lovely coastline all the way up........verymuch unspoilt. sandunes etc.... no crowds....probably north east and northumberland have best beaches in uk........enjoy.

Finally the sun is just starting to break through, this weather is bizarre, just seen a peacock butterfly fluttering past.........

Wall to wall sunshine again here in the NE of Scotland and just checked temperature in shade at 11deg. Not quite the 18 we had last week but not too bad.

The fog on the Tyne was not just all mine... There's enough to share.
We're sitting in the Grand Palatial Hall, on Noo Cassle. ( I've picked up the lingo, already), Station.
Next stop Manchester.
The info board promises that the train will be on time.
All in all a good way of saying goodbye..and reuniting a scattered family.

Finally the sun is just starting to break through, this weather is bizarre, just seen a peacock butterfly fluttering past.........

just seen first butterfly in garden this morning.....it was sat watching the frogs having a jolly old time.........twas a pretty colourful one.......wouldnt have a clue as to which type............frogspawn by thr bucket load...need to find somewhere safe for it.......otherwise when it all hatches, there will be tiny frogs all over the grass.......then it wont be possible to cut it...for fear of massacering them...ohhh.....

Never believe the station information boards .
They are staffed by rejects from the Met office.
We're at Marsden.. 40, minutes late, crawling along at walking pace
This is an airport train.
There's some worried look folk around.
Lovely afternoon, for sight seeing, though.
