What did you do to your van today?

I'm testing the old 300w Bestek inverter to see how it goes charging the scooter battery on the mains charger and two tablets on its USB sockets. I'm not expecting any drama, but it's only ever been used to charge the vans Dyson V6 vacuum cleaner

I've probably about 6 hrs on the corner trims, but the whole motorhome I would guess a full 4 weeks if your counting 8am to 5pm, although its difficult to say as I've been doing days here and days there when I've been able to for past 7 months since purchasing.
I've more or less stripped the whole thing and gone through it, Cab & chassis are spot on, it was the habitation side that was requiring a lot of tlc.
Still a few bits to tidy like restick edges of plastic scuttle and remove/re paint wiper arms, but the list is getting smaller, I'm trying to find direct fit/replacement led body marker lamp units aswell but all ones I've seen are slight different shape.
I got caught up on getting the identical side marker lamp which cost a small fortune as they were not common, i purchased direct from the main supplier and bought more than I need to get the price down.

I've got the Fiamma Ultrabox fitted on my Bike Rack so need to find another way to carry the bike .
Fitted a rail to the Thule Load Carrier and found the bike was around 1/2" too high to go under the box :(
Got a drop plate for the tow bar

This lets me fit the towbar 2.5" lower down and the bike is now a super fit right under the box which lets me have the bike right back

This also frees up the rest of the carrier for other stuff like the Kayak and SUP

In my old van I had carpet tiles on the floor when i bought this one 9 years ago I got carpet plank tiles that fitted perfectly across the width of the van , after 9 years of heavy use they were still in good condition and although jan hoovers them most days it really only picks up the dog hairs , today I did a deep clean I have a industrial aquavac a souvenir from working days so laid out the carpet on the drive vacuumed it then sprayed shampoo left it to soak while I had a cup of tea , I powerwashed it then aquavacced now all laid out to dry in the sun got a couple of gallons of filthy water of them if jan sees that she’ll make me do it again lolIMG_3010.jpegIMG_3011.jpegimage.jpg

Fancy having so much that you cam mislay 4 bottles and not notice.
Still sounds like we'll have to drink them at Hereford. 🍷 🍷 🍷😂😅

Just emptied the van after some days away, and the washing machine is going full blast. Now the bedding to sort, but as its currently 25 degrees it can wait until tomorrow.

At Shibden Hall car park I was less than delighted to find that some toe-rag had scratched the offside rear acrylic window. 😳 That evening at a Hebden Bridge CL I got out the tube of 'Fenwick's Windowize' and after much careful circular polishing the damage is all gone. Thank you Fenwicks!

Happy again. 🙂

Parked it nxt to Clarksons Farm Shop , CCC Chipping Norton, leaving tomorrow going further South .

Big change to the van ( L2 H2 Boxer) When I built it I partitioned the back 600 mm from the rest of the van as a garage area mainly to carry 2 ebikes + deckchairs gas, tables spare water etc.as we now have a 125 scooter on a tow bar mounted rack,I have removed the partition ,this will lengthen the bed to 6'6 (from 4'6 wide),means moving both fusebox & distribution, replace refillable bottle with underslung tank, altering seat bases etc..still want to leave seperate storage for chairs, tables etc..all to make bed from 6'2 x 4'6 to 6'6 x 6'2

Completed these additions prior to us heading off. New anti fatigue type flooring replaced with same but different colour. Seat additions make a huge difference during those long haul periods, less stress in neck and lumber region. Removed carpet from cab area, always a pain to keep clean, fitted black rubber to floor instead, far more practical to keep clean. Steering wheel addition, and a very useful one too, makes those sharp turns far easier, also when cruising down the motorway just having the ball of your hand do the the steering. I have given the latter addition a nick name 😁

Updated the 2 Garmin 780 Camper Satnavs with the latest maps and formatted the 2 spare SDHC Cards so that they are ready for the next update. Putting the new maps onto the spare SDHC Card avoids problems such as the update failing for lack of capacity, and fomatting the 'old' SDHC Card that holds the maps that are being replaced, leaves me with a spare card for the next update. Despite this tedium, the two spare SDHC Cards for both the Garmin and the Avtex 2 780 satnav caused Garmin to think both cards were corrupt. Yet a 'scan and repair' selection reported error free cards with no problems. so popped the cards back in to each satnav, and they both worked flawlessly. The SDHC cards must have been having a funny 5 minutes or the equivalent of a flustered hotflush ... had I known, I would have offered tham a seat and fetched a glass of water till they felt better :ROFLMAO:
