He is speaking to a gearbox specialist in Merseyside who does full rebuilds on these boxes including upgraded parts to remove some of the common faults. Where is your guy?

He's based in Bilston (Wolverhampton) he can either rebuild the box or repair it, it seems that being stuck in reverse is a common occurance with these boxes. The guy in Merseyside seems a good a bet though and I believe that would be nearer to where Frank is from 🤔

Edit: just to add that the guy in Bilston will probably be cheaper simply because the guy in Merseyside is using the upgraded parts which I would imagine are custom made? So if it were me and I was keeping the van I'd go to Merseyside on the otherhand if I wanted to get it working and maybe move it on then I'd speak to the guy in Bilston.

Reminds me of a comment I made to a young French lady who was learning English in UK
We were in a Cow field...
" Would you like a Pat on the Back ?"
She understood it was a joke

Reminds me af paddy the farmer crossing a cow field when drunk and his cap blew of, tried 15 or more before he got the right one.

Looks like a Burstner we used to have. Very well built . . . . .but a lot of campers were very similar. Very easy to work on, I ripped the rubbish 1900 non turbo engine out, and fitted a 2.5 turbo in its place, on my driveway. I also converted it from LHD to RHD.
Donated.

Do we have any update about how Frank and Jo are getting on?
Did they find suitable accommodation and is the van back yet?
I thought the final collection amount was pretty impressive!
