Haha! 211km from Patras to Athens, I had to look it up. Pity you weren't going to Skarsvag, Norway. 4847km, 56 hrs of driving, plus 8 days. They wouldn't have decomposed very much, they would have been deep frozen. Seal food.
 
I have to worry about how long the van will last though, in use every day even a new one would have issues eventually and the parts sources are very dry for very old models.

As a Talbot owner for 10 years now, I can confirm that part sources are not a problem.
There are a number of specialist suppliers keeping these venerable vans on the road.
There is also a healthy supply of breakers for these vans also
 
That's good to hear, but how many of these vans are on the road still?
 
That's good, I was thinking that if the customer base dried up, no one would bother carrying stock to keep them going,

The Talbot motorhome range here in the UK were manufactured from the collaboration of Fiat with the PSA group, Citroen & Peugeot.
Citroen sold the van as the C25 and Peugeot as the J5 with the common engine range. Fiat used their own engine but thereafter a great deal of commonality of parts were used to produce the vans.
I am sure there are still a lot of these vans running around Europe to this day.
This will obviously help making it worthwhile manufacturing stock for the vans which are at least 30 years old now !
As you might expect of vans that were used in Europe, sophistication unheard of here back in those days - they even offered air con as an extra !!
 
Talbot Express vehicles were first made in n1982. Ours succumbed to the old metal moth. All four rear spring hangers and a good proportion of the chassis had almost disappeared overnight! The inside was damp and it was too costly to repair. But the engine and gearbox were just perfect (for 1960/70's tech!) But if anyone is looking for chassis and body parts for these vans, there is a guy called Simon, who makes them. Did the cab on ours and made a great job of it. He no longer repairs, just supplies parts.

And just to add to the above, he may not do repairs but he does have someone local to him who he recommends and is local to him !

I worked for A S Baird in whitabbey who were the agents for them along with roots/commer trucks hillman and some other daft car i forgot the name for, rememeber now Simca.
