Sitting in the lounge of the Newhaven - Dieppe ferry listening to the safety warning, gale force winds . This is going to be fun.
It was difficult to say goodbye to Nik this morning. She’s going to miss me. No, got that wrong, I’m going to miss her.
I put that in just in case she ever reads this.
Today, Sunday is the second day of my three month sabbatical, and it maybe the first day I don’t get a call from work, saying I was late and was I coming in. How I’m going to miss them, not.
The steward has been round with bags for “ mer de mere “. Don’t know what that means, probably a “doggy bag “, for breakfast. Cor! It’s getting difficult to type this . The boat’s rolling all over the place. Oh! Oh! I’ve just seen what you the bags are for. Not pretty, and definitely for breakfasts, or the loss of them.
I’ll do more to do tomorrow. Oh dear, there’s another one. Lot of green people about 🤢🤮

Have fun and keep us up to date with your travels. I expect you're heading for warmer parts but there'll be a fair few of us in the Netherlands in April if you're around then. Bon Voyage!

Arrived safe n sound, only used the bathroom for its usual prime function.
Having an interesting experience with la Garmin.
Thanks all for taking an interest, could get lonely. Then again, only if I let it.

Currently just outside Dieppe ,at Hautot sur mer, Route des Falaise. On the sea front. Staying the night, just about to get the dinner on. Beef casserole. I’ll teach the French a thing or two about cooking q

They’re queuing at the door, shouting “ Rost buoff “, what ever that means. I think they’re friendly, difficult to tell.

You may have a point there Terry. I had a visitor after cleaning up. A young North African lad, knocked on the door asking for some water. Innocent enough, maybe. Enough for me to 1, fill his bottle, and 2, do the first rule of Wildcamping, move. Found a great spot a about 8km inland. Sheltered, thankfully, the storm hit big time in the early hours. Didn’t stop me from getting 12 hours kip. I knew I was knackered, but 12 hours, with a gale blowing. Well chuffed. It’s put today’s early start out of the window. How will I ever make up the time. I’ve only got 88 days left 🤐.
Terry, that “CaraMaps” app you suggested is terrific, thanks. I’ll use that before I use the Aires books.

I’m parked in the car park of a leisure/sports club in Chevillon sur Huillard, near Montargis, just off the D2020. Stayed off peage for most of the day. Couldn’t avoid the bit at Evereux. Successfully got diesel from Intermarche despite the pump refusing to translate into English. €1.44. Think it’s much the same as I paid in Northampton. I’m hoping this will do me until I get into Spain. I’m told it’s cheaper there.
Glad to get south of Orleans, from Dieppe until Orleans it was like driving around Spalding all day. Started getting same ish.
Putting some spuds on, then ‘tother half of last nights casserole. No visitors tonight, hopefully.
